Classroom Presence – The Teaching Persona

Think back to when you were at school… Which teacher do you remember as your favourite? Why do you remember them so fondly?

Perhaps they were not the most academically refined teacher…you remember them because they were engaging, encouraging, trustworthy and built classroom relationships with skill and precision.

Developing a classroom presence and a teaching persona will have a profoundly positive impact on teaching and learning.

This workshop examines the positive impact your voice and body language can have in the classroom when fashioning your teaching persona. It also explores the care and protection of our classroom voice.

This workshop is ideal to support teachers in the early years of their training and those who are newly-qualified.

The Oracy Classroom

If we want our classrooms to be filled with thinking…then from time to time we should fill them with purposeful talk.

Blending traditional teaching techniques with modern facilitation activities creates the environment in the classroom for this purposeful talk to be taking place.

Questioning methods, success criteria for oracy and facilitiation techniques are explored in detail this workshop.

This workshop is available to all teachers looking to develop oracy in the classroom and facilitate oracy activities to progress and deepen the levels of critical thinking in the classroom.

If you are exploring a whole-school unified approach to oracy, then this workshop will kick-start that.

Questions Questions…

How often do you ask questions in your classroom? How many different students answer? How often do students ask questions of you?

Questioning is a process to encourage critical thinking in the classroom and build the lifelong interaction and communication skills that are needed to become engaged members of the classroom…and of society.

This workshop builds on the content of The Oracy Classroom and will support a unified oracy strategy across all subjects.

Confident Communication Coaching - Leaders & Aspiring Leaders

Why do we get so nervous when speaking to our peers?

Some schools of thought suggest that human evolution or states of social anxiety are responsible for glossophobia.

Most fears surrounding public speaking stem from our fear of being isolated, judged and criticised. People are afraid that their audience will reject them.

These one-to-one or small group coaching sessions are aimed at Leaders and Aspiring Leaders.

After all, you will be the ones presenting to staff, parents, governors and trusts.

Regular coaching provides an in-depth exploration of preparation, structure, content, delivery and what to do after the event that will support you as you navigate your public speaking journey.
